Khun Daeng is my favorite restaurant in the South Bend area and serves the best Thai food I've had anywhere. The menu is friendly to vegetarians and the kitchen staff is very accommodating (even to those with less adventurous palates). Entrées are served in generous, family-size portions; order several and share with the table. I especially recommend the fresh spring rolls, pad thai, and pad kee-mow. Khun Daeng is family owned and operated; the personality of the owner and her daughter shine through in everything from the decorative presentation of the food to the jocular interactions with regular customers. I bring all my out-of-town guests to this hidden jewel and have never been disappointed.

I was first introduced to your restaurant about 2 years ago by a business associate. I now eat there regularly about twice a week for lunch. The food is fantastic, service fast and friendly, and menu prices are reasonable. Because it is just off of McKinley, I may never have known it was there. I am grateful that I was told about this “hidden gem” of Southeast Asian dining. Thanks for so many wonderful meals from your kitchen.

Khun Daeng opened three weeks after my husband and I moved to to Northern Indiana, this was in 2003. We've been customers ever since. I was in over the weekend with an out-of-town Friend who has never been exposed to Asian cuisine. We decided on a simple, and all-time favorite of mine, Pad Thai. My Friend loved it, and wants to come back for more!
The service at Khun Daeng is friendly, the prices quite reasonable. They offer scrumptious appetizers, desserts, and delicious entrees which include your choice of either meat, seafood or strictly vegetables. Khun Daeng will accommodate requests, within reason, for certain substitutions. The owners, Jirada & Daeng, always make me and my family feel like part of theirs. So, if you are adventurous and love trying new cuisines, I highly recommend visiting Khun Daeng for lunch or dinner.

Khun Daeng is my favorite restaurant in Mishawaka. Every time I go there, I feel like I am part of the family. It's friendly, the service is great and the food is wonderful. My favorites are the Thai Spring Rolls and the Phad Thai. Two thumbs up Khun Daeng !

Khun Daeng is a great jewel hidden among the mega chain restaurants in Mishawaka. Their menu can be suited to fit even the most picky tastes. I would encourage you to ask for assistance on your first time then try to expand on your options when you return. My daughter (age 7) and I enjoy the food and environment created by the staff.

I stumbled upon Khun Daeng in 2008 and have been there at least once a week ever since. The cuisine is fantastic. The egg rolls are the best I’ve ever had. I’ve been to many Thai restaurants and this is by far my favorite. If you’re looking for the large pretentious building with lots of expensive furnishings and staff with no personality, this isn’t your place. If you’re looking for well prepared authentic Thai food in a light hearted, fun atmosphere you really should try Khun Daeng. You’ll be back for more.

What a pleasure to eat at Khun Daeng! Rarely does one find a restaurant that always delivers a great meal every time, regardless of what you order. I have my favorites of course but all of your dishes are terrific. Thank you to Jirada and her mother for one of my favorite restaurants!

The cuisines at Khung Daeng are all exquisite. Each meal is prepared with great care and attention to detail. The atmosphere is pleasant and Jirada definitely makes you feel at home. I often order a lunch meal and two dinner meals to go. It is by far the best Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to. I highly recommend cuisine #44.

Khun Daeng Thai Kitchen is one of those hidden treasures that you have to seek out. You are a stranger but once here as it is a mother and daughter place and you quickly get to know them. It is my favorite place for Thai food. Having been introduced to the cuisine of Thailand five years ago I learned to appreciate the subtle differences in the food. I have been to Thai restaurants through out Indiana, and even in Chicago Illinois, only back in Mishawaka do I find the best Pad Thai. . Jirada and her mother do all of the dishes in a special way that makes them the best that I have found.

Khun Daeng is a must eat. I’ve yet to find a dish I don’t like. You can tell and taste that care and passion goes into each item on the menu. Jirada is outstanding, the last time I ate there she had a co-worker and I try something she was working on, and it was so good I wanted to change my order. If you’re looking for GREAT Thai Cuisine, in a great atmosphere, look no further. Jirada don’t stop doing what you’re doing!!!!

This place is a real gem. Excellent food and outstanding service. I highly recommend Tom Yum Soup, Fresh Spring Rolls, and the Pa Nang Red Curry. Very friendly atmosphere.

If you are into different textures and flavors Khun Daeng is the place to be. Jirada and her mother make you feel at home in their charming little restaurant hidden off McKinley road. I have been a customer for about four years now and I enjoy great Thai restaurants and believe me I tried the so called "others" out there and no one beats Khun Daeng Thai Kitchen!
